Marisol Sánchez denounces that waiting lists in Rafael Méndez for the first specialist consultation have exceeded the limits allowed by law for years. In addition, the Ombudsman has once again requested information before the "delay" of the Murcian Health Service that continues without respond to this body, after the complaint raised by the PSOE to give an urgent solution to the waiting times supported by area III
The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has once again demanded the hiring of specialist doctors to reduce "urgently" the waiting lists in outpatient consultations.
Sanchez Jódar says it is "inhumane" what the Regional Government is allowing to happen in Lorca and Rafael Mendez, where for years, citizens have endured "illegal" waiting times, well beyond the limits set by law .
Also, Sanchez Jódar has once again demanded the change of the current citation system of Rafael Méndez.
Ensures that blocking agendas suffered by users of Rafael Méndez "does not happen anywhere, except in Lorca."
The socialist mayor warns that several of the medical agendas remain "closed", forcing patients to a continuous "pilgrimage" in search of an appointment that "never comes."
According to Sánchez Jódar, the blocking of medical agendas is the reason why the number of specialty patients "without an assigned date" continues to increase.
The Murcia Health Service data reveal that, in just three months, the number of patients "without appointment" has "shot" in more than 1,500, from 8,064 people in September 2017 to 9,513 to December 31 of the same year .
The data corresponding to December 2017, after arriving two months late, also reveal a new generalized rise in wait times in specialties.
In external consultations, there is an average wait of 118,04 when it should be 50, according to the own autonomic legislation in matter of health.
Also, remember that of the total number of patients without a date assigned for consultation with the specialist in the Region, which is about 22,073 patients, 40% correspond "only" to the Rafael Méndez hospital.
This data makes Lorca lead the dishonorable honor of hoarding only in area III, 40% of all patients in the Region of Murcia who have not even been given an appointment and are in "the limbo of public health regional".
Regarding diagnostic tests, the total number of patients waiting for an appointment to have a test has gone from 7,514 patients in September to 8,126 patients in December of the same year, with the aggravating circumstance that of these 8,126 people, practically 90%, of they, specifically 7,455 are still without an assigned date, waiting for some day to call them.
Sánchez Jódar recalls that, a few months ago, the PSOE was forced to appeal to the Ombudsman in search of protection against the seriousness of waiting lists in Lorca.
After this complaint, the Ombudsman gave the reason to the Socialists and urged the Murcian Health Service information to inspect this situation.
However, on January 31, the Ombudsman had to request this information again, recognizing, verbatim, the "delay" of the SMS to send this information.
