The Councilman of Transports of the City council of Lorca, Francisco Javier Pelegrín, has informed this morning that the Consistory lorquino is going to acquire 4 hybrid vehicles for the mobile park of the area of ​​Citizen Security with the aim of reducing of gradual form the CO2 emissions to the atmosphere and make the Local Administration an example to follow for all citizens.

Francisco Javier Pelegrín explained that "in particular, it consists of 4 hybrid vehicles (electric gasoline) of the MPV type that have the homologation of the adaptation to the patrol car.They are new cars that have an electric motor with a maximum power of KW 60 and petrol combustion engine CV 90 with CO2 emissions equal to or less than 96 g / km The tender budget is 231,000 euros.For the service they will be assigned to, they will be part of prevention and surveillance operations of the Local Police , it is about vehicles that will accumulate a great mileage, so the bet for hybrid cars is more than justified, since they will unite a greater environmental respect and a lower consumption ".

The Councilor for Transport has indicated that "electric vehicles, whose use is beginning to normalize in our society, is one of the advances we want to promote from this administration, in fact we have already taken steps in this direction, including the preparation of points of in the projects related to urban renewal works that are being executed in the municipality and that can be found in Pérez Casas Street, San Diego neighborhood and Juan Carlos I Avenue. We are talking about initiatives, along with the implementation of the Lorca Smart City Master Plan, with which we pursue the promotion of the use of clean and sustainable energies in terms of mobility, which are complemented by the implementation of the network of bike lanes that is being progressively expanded with the aim of reducing gradual emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere and be an example for Lorca but also for other municipalities.

Pelegrín has stated that "the use of this type of vehicle is also being encouraged from the economic level, the tax ordinances include for a few years at the proposal of this Municipal Administration, a bonus of 75% of the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles ( IVTM) to electric vehicles for 3 years, as well as another 50% for hybrids.This is a range of realities with which we try to make Lorca a city where innovation and sustainability, in all its sectors, is capable to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants and generate new employment and economic opportunities ".
