José Antonio Gallego López was born in Valencia on November 11, 1942. He is a professor and retired high school professor of Philosophy.
He has four children.
He was mayor for a decade between the years 1983-1993.
At organic level, he was president of the PSOE in the Region of Murcia from 1994 to 2000, as well as secretary general of the PSOE Lorca.
He was also deputy in the II and VII legislature, participating in the commissions of agriculture, livestock and fisheries and the environment, as well as senator in the V and VI legislature, between 1993 and 2000, exercising, among other positions, the vice-speaker of works public.
José María Campoy Camacho Camacho was born in Lorca on January 24, 1946. He graduated in law and devoted much of his life to the world of justice, within a family saga dedicated to the legal profession, in addition to promoting cultural, historical recovery and documentary lorquina through multiple investigations and compilations of great relevance.
He was mayor of the municipality in the period between 1973-1975, in addition to having been elected councilor of this Municipal Corporation by the Democratic Coalition (CD) in 1979 and later in 1987 by Independent Solution (SI). He was also appointed deputy provincial.
During his mandate he had to face the crisis caused by the fateful floods that our city suffered in 1973.
These tributes in the form of appointments are added to those of two other mayors of the city, Miguel Navarro and José López Fuentes, who died a few days apart in January 2016 and whose names now call, respectively, the pedestrian footbridge on the river Guadalentín and a new avenue in a zone of expansion of the city.
