The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has affirmed that the achievement of the agreement by the Congress of Deputies that has resulted in the establishment of a social price for desalinated water (which will be 30 cents m3), constitutes an important advance that will benefit the professionals of the sector in time of drought, a situation that they are currently suffering.
The First Edil has affirmed that the Spaniards in general, and the Lorca in a very particular way, we need that the responsibility of our political representatives is above any other question regarding water.
Solidarity among the regions of our country must prevail over any other interest.

I sincerely believe that we are taking important steps towards the goal of achieving the National Water Pact, which, including transfers, is our inalienable final objective.
The consensus reached between the majority parties must serve as a stimulus to continue moving along that same line.
It is time for politicians to serve as an example for citizens, and for society to be aware that we are capable of reaching agreements.
I trust that this is the first step in that direction.
