The Murcian Health Service (SMS) will carry out this summer the improvement works in the health centers of San Diego and Lorca-Sutullena, both in Lorca.
The Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia publishes today the announcement of the tender for the renovation works of the health center of San Diego and the adequacy of the premises allocated to the Medical Emergency Unit (EMU) in the Lorca health center. Sutullena, both in Lorca.
The investment of the two projects amounts to more than 480,000 euros.
The works of the center of San Diego will be carried out in the space where the Emergency Service of Primary Attention was located, which was moved to the health center of Lorca-Sutullena.
The latter center is also being reformed to enable the emergency service facilities.
The general director of healthcare of the SMS, Roque Martinez, highlighted the "substantial improvement" of the attention to the users of the center once the work "we want to carry out in the summer months to cause the minimum inconvenience to the patients and the tasks of the health personnel ".
With this work the pediatric consultations were installed, which were distributed by several floors of the building, in the space where the emergency service was located.
In total, there will be five pediatric consultations with their corresponding toilets for children and a lactation room for mothers.
The investment foreseen in this reform is about 240,000 euros, with an execution period of four months.
In this center it serves more than 30,000 users, which makes it the largest population coverage of the municipality.
Emergency base in Lorca-Sutullena
As for the works that will be undertaken in the health center Lorca-Sutullena, the action consists in the adaptation of the premises destined to emergency base, currently located in a municipal building, with a budget close to 242,000 euros.
They will be executed within two and a half months from the contracting date.
This center has the capacity to serve a population of 12,000 inhabitants.
