The 'MORE' Company, formed by actors of the Jesus Abandoned Foundation, begins its journey through the theaters of the Region of Murcia with its latest work, 'Postales para un niño', which will be performed next Friday, March 2 at the Teatro Guerra of Lorca.
After his time in Lorca, he has scheduled several other performances in other venues, including the Beniaján Auditorium, the Vico de Jumilla Theater, and the Gran Teatro de Huelva, which will be his first step outside the Region of Murcia.
Tickets can already be purchased on the website of the theater (www.teatroguerralorca.org) at a single price of 10 euros and all proceeds will go to the social projects of Jesus Abandoned, among which is the therapeutic theater workshop , to continue the social work of the company and fight against social exclusion.
'Teatro MÁS' is made up of six users of the Foundation and three professional actors who in this work deal with the theme of human fears from the perspective of a child who acts as the guiding thread of a journey between the tragic and the comic, between the dream and reality, and that takes the spectator by the hand to the entrails of the human being.
'I need you.
Come 'is the mysterious message that the child finds on a postcard and with which the adventure begins.
Although the sender is unknown, the child's heart identifies him as a family member and thus embarks on a journey in search of the author with the decision and lack of temerity proper to his age.
Therapeutic theater
The 'MORE' Company started as a therapeutic theater workshop aimed at the users of Jesus Abandoned, in which the participants exposed life situations and worked in the search for tools to get by, such as disinhibition when speaking in public, expression of emotions , verbal communication or face fear and prejudice.
The evolution of the participants led them to set up this company that, in its three years of life has two more shows: 'Confessions' (2015) and '1, 2, 3, 4, ... LOVE' (2016), in addition to 'Postcards for a child', which has already been represented at the Párraga Center, the Romea Theater and the Circus Theater of Murcia.
For the creation of 'Postcards for a child' the interpreters underwent a process of personal inquiry where the actors recognized and shared "their personal fears, which at the same time were universal fears, that is where the psychologists team came into play, therapists and coach to create a safety net for each individual, "adds the director.
Inclusion objective
All the theater activity of Jesus Abandoned is aimed at raising awareness to improve the opportunities of people in situations of exclusion or at risk of being.
In addition, "through artistic expression the recovery of the participants is promoted by helping them to develop their social skills and their emotional state," says Galera.
The Jesus Abandoned Foundation develops its work in the Region of Murcia together with the San Juan de Dios Hospital Order to improve the living conditions of homeless people and accompany them in their integral recovery, in the line of offering 'More than eating and sleeping '
