Casalduero demands that Health clarify the reasons why during the last weeks, the Murciano Health Service is calling dozens of patients of Rafael Méndez specialties to postpone their appointments "sine die", for which they had been waiting for months, even exceeding the maximum periods established by law. Most of the canceled appointments are being registered in the dermatology and rheumatology consultations.
The Regional Deputy of the PSOE, Isabel Casalduero announces that they will demand explanations from the Health Counselor to clarify what is happening so that the Murcian Health Service is canceling "sine die" appointments for the patients in area III of health who had their consultations arranged for medical specialist.
Casalduero has shown that during the last weeks, from the SMS administration department, telephone calls are being made to users of health area III, both in Rafael Méndez and in Santa Rosa de Lima, to inform them that their appointments, agreed several months in advance and that by themselves violated the current law which establishes the obligation not to exceed the maximum period of 50 days for first consultation with the specialist "are canceled indefinitely, without giving any explanation in this regard "
"We do not know when we will call you again, we do not know when we will be able to give you an appointment." We will now call you "the" explanations "that the SMS offers to the users you are calling to cancel your appointments, arranged since" months. "
Most of the canceled appointments, he adds, are being recorded in dermatology and rheumatology clinics.
For Casalduero, it is a "new example" of the "discrimination" to which we, the users of area III of health, are subject.

The deputy warns that this same situation is occurring with patients who had appointment for revisions of pathologies or for the viewing of diagnostic tests, which are also being canceled the appointment with the consequent risk of having to repeat the tests, and the uneasiness and impotence of the user of not knowing what to do by not being given an alternative by the administration.
The PSOE requires Health to clarify why the users of area III expect more to be served than the rest of the citizens of the Region
In addition, the socialist deputy will ask the Health Counselor why users of area III expect more for first specialist consultation.
Casalduero will ask at the Regional Assembly what factors are causing, for example, for first consultation in cardiology, the average waiting time in area III is 39.10 days while in area IX only 11.52 days are expected .
Or why the wait for first consultation in dermatology in area III is 106.72 days while in area VII it is 48.5 days.
Similar case occurs in the specialty of urology.
Therefore, it will ask what happens so that in the first consultation in urology, users expect, on average, in area III, 97.14 days and in area VII, they wait for an average of only 8.12 days;
or for rheumatology, why in area III there are 101.42 days of waiting, on average, while in area VII the delay is 30.18 days.
In short, will question the Health Counselor to clarify if perhaps, the users of the area III Health do not deserve, at least, be treated in the same way as the rest of users in the different health areas of the Region of Murcia.
