The Councilors of Citizen Security and Consumption of the City of Lorca, Belén Pérez and María del Carmen Ruiz, respectively, have delivered to the Religious Order of the Poor Clares of our city 400 kilos of almonds seized last November in two police operations in our municipality, and whose amount had not been required by their owners.
The Councilor for Citizen Security has recalled that "the intervention of these more than 300 kilograms of almonds was produced last November in the districts of the north of our municipal area." Thanks to the preventive / operational actions that are carried out by the Local Police Force, the agents located a vehicle occupied by 5 people who had numerous police records for crimes against heritage in rural areas After inspecting the vehicle in which these people were traveling, 7 bags containing almonds were located inside , of about 30 kilograms of weight each, and whose origin they could not accredit, reason for which proceeded to his intervention and deposit in police dependencies, all for the purpose of making the corresponding inquiries to determine their origin ".
Perez added that "subsequently, another vehicle was located occupied by three people who also had numerous records for crimes against heritage, especially in rural areas, and in which they carried 3 bags of almonds that threw a weight of about 100 kilograms The origin of this merchandise could not be accredited either, so it was proceeded to deposit it in police premises.Of these facts the Civil Guard of Lorca was informed to carry out the corresponding inquiries, this institution being the one who continues with the investigations tending to the clarification of the facts ".
María del Carmen Ruiz, meanwhile, stressed that "this is a donation that reflects the commitment of the City Council with this important and beloved religious congregation of Lorca."
