Pedro Sosa, councilor spokesman for Izquierda Unida Verdes in the municipality of Lorca, presented this morning an act consisting of a round table on the situation and prospects of the railroad in the Guadalentín region.
This event will be attended by José Luís Ordoñez, Spokesperson of the State Coordinator for the Public, Social and Sustainable Train and former General Director of Mobility of the Junta de Andalucía, and Antonio del Campo, railway, trade unionist of CC.OO and ex-Member of the Board of Directors of RENFE.
Sosa has encouraged all those citizens who are concerned about the burial of the AVE as it passes through our municipality and those affected by the expropriations that take place in that sense to attend the event.
Sosa has criticized that the distant promise of the AVE has meant years of abandonment of the rail network of Murcia by all governments.
We have the oldest trains in the country, without a single meter of electrification of the lines, we have ruled out the much more reasonable, cheap and fast alternative of the connection with Madrid through high speed trains by means of the well-known variant of Camarillas , the detour of Alicante has been definitively imposed to arrive to Madrid, and we continue with old and slow "hyperamortized" suburban trains, which, unlike the AVE, are used every day by thousands of citizens of our region to reach the capital of the Region.
