The Town Planning Councilor in the City of Lorca, María Saturnina Martínez, has reported that this municipal area has granted a new license for the rehabilitation of a building in the historic center of our city.
The Town Planning Edil explained that the works consist of the integral rehabilitation of a house located on Cava street, recovering its original structure and equipping it with all the modern systems of energy efficiency, thermal and acoustic insulation as well as technical criteria to equip the structural security property required.
A private investment is foreseen in this respect that exceeds 250,000 euros.

We want the large investments that are being made to recover our monumental heritage legacy to bring more families to this emblematic area of ​​Lorca.
The owners acquired the property with the objective of rehabilitating it to be inhabited.
It is a construction that was in poor condition, having suffered internal collapses of forged by the passage of time and inclement weather.
The degree of deterioration was so advanced that it made impossible its integral recovery, but the promoters have bet, according to what is reflected in the report that motivates the license, to conserve all the possible elements, starting from the facade to Cava Street, which wants to rehabilitate trying to be integrated into the environment in which it locates.
The housing in question has grade 3 protection.
It is intended to be used as a detached house, annexing a small apartment with independent access from Cava street, respecting the typology and urban characteristics of the area.
The rehabilitation will be carried out using traditional materials of similar characteristics to the original ones of the house.
It is a neoclassical house from the early nineteenth century with architecture of simple shapes and sense of order, with two main facades, and a third that falls to an annex yard.
It is a construction of sober structure, built on a solid stone base that recerca the main cover.
Among its decorative elements it is worth mentioning the stuccoed chain in the corners, which starts from the fascia of the body under the eaves with two bulging corbels, as well as other sustaining and ornamental elements characteristic of the architecture of that time.
In one of its facades there is an altarpiece of Sevillian ceramic tiles with the image of the Virgin of Carmen with the Child under a roof.
Housing was departamented throughout the 20th century to house several houses, expanding in the courtyard with annexed buildings that have disappeared.
It is expected that the rehabilitation will take place within a period of no more than one year, after which the neighborhood will have one more family, as well as a tourist apartment that will help regenerate and boost the historic center.
This license is added to others granted on Cava Street due to the restoration of buildings damaged by earthquakes in 2011. Some of them are already in an advanced stage of reconstruction, while the start of several more is still pending.
It is worth remembering that the City Council is carrying out the rehabilitation of another building in the numbers 13 and 14 of this same street that will house the future center of women, which represents an investment of close to 600,000 euros.
These actions together with the creation of a green space adjoining the church of Santiago to serve as a recreation area for residents, are part of the commitment of the Municipal Executive to make the historic center has a more comfortable and attractive environment facing the residence of citizens.
