The workers of the Virgen del Alcázar Hospital collected 1,200 euros to donate to the NGO at their Christmas company dinner.
The president of Unicef Murcia, Amparo Marzal, went today to the Virgen del Alcázar Hospital to receive the donation that the workers of the center collected last Christmas at their company dinner.
From the Hospital an initiative was launched to draw during that dinner a large Christmas basket with solidarity, as the company committed to double the amount raised in the raffle to deliver all that money to an NGO.
In this way, the 400 euros raised at first became 1,200 euros donated by workers and the company.
The chosen organization was Unicef, known by all for its work to protect and defend the rights of children around the world.
During the delivery of the check, Amparo Marzal, president of Unicef Murcia, thanked all the workers and stressed that "the money collected here is multiplied in the destination countries, since its value is much higher there."
On the other hand, Mª Dolores Lafuente, manager of the Hospital, commented that this initiative was born this year but will continue to be carried out at company dinners.
"We hope that each year we will collect a little more and we can help the NGO chosen to achieve its objectives," added Mª Dolores Lafuente.
