The general director of Citizen Security and Emergencies of the Autonomous Community, José Ramón Carrasco, and the Councilor for Emergencies of the City of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas, reported today the security device adopted on the occasion of Holy Week in 2018, in order to guarantee security, coordination and adequate attention to neighbors and visitors during the development of the Lorca processions.
After the coordination meetings of all the services involved in security and emergencies, the Special Emergency Plan for Holy Week 2018 was drafted, with the aim of reinforcing the actions of control, surveillance and intervention in public spaces by all bodies security and emergencies, which will enhance their services especially during the development of the main processional events, in which there is a large public influx.
Carrasco explained that "the Plan will be activated in the pre-emergency phase a few hours before the celebration of each of the main events, highlighting Friday of Dolores, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Silence procession and Good Friday."
Community and City Council organize a deployment of more than 800 people and 130 vehicles.
