The Deputy Speaker of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Isabel Casalduero has demanded that the regional government, in the Plenary Assembly, immediately proceed to the payment and settlement of the part that corresponds to it, according to its quota of the work certificates pending payment, so that the construction company can restart the reconstruction work of the nine blocks of the neighborhood of San Fernando de Lorca, whose works have been paralyzed for four weeks.

This motion has been approved unanimously by the Chamber.

The deputy speaker had an emotional intervention, in which he read the letter of one of the affected neighbors in which he affirmed that they felt helpless.

Casalduero denounced that the 232 families of the Barrio de San Fernando, in the municipality of Lorca, continue out of their homes since the fateful earthquakes of May 11, 2011. The Autonomous Community, owner of just 8% of the urban development of the unit of action, is hindering the normal progress of these works by not paying their share.

"We do not understand why the regional government continues with these defaults and with this neglect, which directly affects the quality of life of many people, who are desperate because they do not see the time to return to their homes."

The socialist deputy spokesman criticized that in "this question, the reality exceeds the fiction" and added that "4 years have passed since they gave the first planning licenses, with the commitment of the regional government to cooperate with the Lorca City Council in the reconstruction of the houses, and yet, violates his word, despite having the responsibility to see by the established deadlines.

In addition, Casalduero recalled that on February 26, during the celebration of the Plenary Session of the City of Lorca was agreed unanimously by the different municipal groups with representation in the consistory, a motion for the same purpose as the present.

Casalduero stressed that "there are issues that are urgent, there are issues that are important and this, in addition, is justice and the Government should leave the skin so that these neighbors can return to their homes."
