The Councilor for Public Safety of the City of Lorca, Belén Pérez Martínez, has announced an action of interest carried out by members of the Local Operational Prevention and Response Unit (UPROL) and the Pedestrian Assistance Unit (UAP) last Wednesday, March 28.
Pérez Martínez pointed out that "around 2:20 p.m., a warning was received that a van was approaching the municipality of Lorca after committing the theft of various new metal carpentry material in a warehouse located in the Pulpí Industrial Estate. The agents of the units UPROL and UAP established a device to try to reach the vehicle, which was intercepted at the intersection of highway RM-11 with the Carretera de la Almenara, being this occupied by three men of Spanish origin with numerous backgrounds. for crimes against the patrimony ".
Thus, the Edil has detailed that "once identified the occupants and after removing the vehicle by the service of municipal crane to put it at the disposal of the court, the owner of the ship sacked in Pulpí, confirming that in the van hid objects and pieces new metallic carpentry and locksmith of considerable value belonging to your company.This way proceeded to the delivery of the belongings to its owner, instructing the corresponding police proceedings on the facts.It must be noted that inside the van were located other items of different value that could also have been stolen from other companies in the same industrial estate ".
The Councilor for Public Safety wanted to "congratulate the participating agents for their speed to start the device that allowed to intercept the vehicle and stop the thieves, recovering the stolen booty, it was a very fast operation organized efficiently thanks to the professionalism of the agents and with the best possible result, which confirms the importance of the organization in units and the establishment of surveillance devices throughout the municipal area ".
