The director general of the Tourism Institute, Manuel Fernández-Delgado, attended today along with the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, and the president of Hostelor, Francisco Jesús Abellaneda, at the presentation of the 'Feria del Sol', an event that will place from April 14 to 22 during which a large representation of catering establishments in the city will offer tapas and tastings.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Estrella de Levante and local hoteliers.
The fair celebrates its second edition this year under the slogan 'In April, tapas thousand' and will offer complementary activities such as evening concerts and the 'Aires del Sur' fashion show.
'Feria del Sol' is organized by the Professional Association of Hostelers of Lorca (Hostelor) and has the support of the City of Lorca, the Institute of Tourism, Estrella de Levante and Ceclor.
The objective of the fair, according to Fernández-Delgado, "is to reduce the seasonality of tourism in the municipality and contribute to its dynamization, specifically encouraging the attraction of visitors to the city using the gastronomic heritage as a claim".
