The Government delegate, Francisco Bernabé, chaired this morning the signing of an Agreement-Protocol between the Provincial Traffic Chief, Virginia Jerez, and the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, to establish a new delimitation of competences in terms of road safety on roads affected by the municipality of Lorca between the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard and the Local Police Corps of the locality.
After the signing of the agreement, held in the City of Lorca, Bernabé has valued the importance of this agreement in a Municipal Term that is the largest in Spain, with an important network of districts.
"This extension means that sometimes it becomes difficult to address all the contingencies that may arise in terms of traffic, and therefore we have distributed the spaces between Civil Guard and Local Police to optimize the ability to meet the needs of the citizen, with greater coordination, which will provide a better service and faster and more agile attention ", explained the delegate.
With the signing of this coordination agreement on surveillance, control, regulation and traffic accident in the municipality of Lorca, are defined the powers of action in the urban area, peri-urban (roads and vegetable garden), commercial, industrial, hospital-care , residential and other road infrastructures derived from the city planning planning instruments.
