The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, has announced the holding of different sessions of "Encounters with Author" during the month of April, initiative launched by the Municipal Libraries Network with the aim of encouraging reading and its benefits among the young students of the municipality.
El Edil pointed out that "until the end of the month we will celebrate 4 sessions with 3 authors of recognized prestige in the world of literature in which 1,200 students from different Secondary courses will participate." All sessions will be held in the Center's Assembly Hall Cultural in morning school hours ".
The first author who will visit Lorca will be Lorenzo Silva who, in collaboration with the Editorial Anaya, will talk about his book El cazador del desierto.
Up to 500 3rd and 4th ESO students will have the opportunity to talk with the prestigious writer on April 18 and 19.
Silva is the author of The weakness of the Bolshevik, taken to the cinema with success, The impatient alchemist, Nadal Prize in 2000, The meridian brand, Planeta Prize in 2012, and the collection of detective novels starring the civil guards Bevilacqua and Chamorro .
In addition to his books for adults, Silva has successfully ventured into the writing of children's and youth works for the past 20 years.
On Tuesday, April 24, thanks to the collaboration with the Editorial Santillana, will visit Lorca the writer Andrés Guerrero, who will present his book Love is too complicated to 200 students of 1st and 2nd of ESO.
The Extremadura began in the world of graphic humor to subsequently consolidate as an illustrator and writer of children's and youth works, achieving the CCEI Prize for illustration for his book Five sheep.
The Sevillian Francisco Díaz Valladares will close the programming for the month of April visiting Lorca on the 27th, in collaboration with the Editorial Edebé.
Up to 500 students of 1st and 2nd of ESO will have the opportunity to know the book Tras la sombra del brujo, Edebé Prize of Youth Literature 2017. Díaz Valladares has published juvenile novels of adventures as The secret of Pulau Karang or The revenge of the Museilines, as well as action novels like Terror under the ice or The cursed book of the Templars.
