The commercial center of Lorca, inaugurated in 2008 and acquired in July 2017 by Murias Grupo Empresarial together with its financial partner, the investment fund Oak Hill Advisors, is immersed in an ambitious remodeling and remarketing project in which more will be invested. of 6 million euros.
It is a strategic action for the city of Lorca, which will act as a generator of investment in the area, creating direct and indirect employment and attracting new business initiatives, both local and international.
The shopping center, located in the vicinity of Lorca (Murcia), has a gross leasable area (GLA) of 67,000 m2, distributed in a park of specialized medium-sized surfaces and an integrated shopping center, with more than 160 stores, serving an area of ​​influence of more than 200,000 inhabitants, being the main shopping and leisure destination of the Guadalentín region.
Within the action plan, Almenara Park is developing a new design of its architectural ensemble, undertaking the covering of its exterior corridors through a system of canvas overlay, this action being the most demanded by the usual public of the Shopping Center.
Additionally, a change of look will be made in its facades and a new labeling criterion will increase the visibility of its shops.
To these changes, the renewal of its landscaped areas and rest areas will be added, thus improving the shopping experience of its customers and capturing the attention of the best commercial and leisure brands.
Almenara Park will also be more sustainable, efficient and welcoming thanks to the change of all its lighting to LED technology, improving the lighting of its corridors and gardens creating a new environment that will make the visit of customers a more pleasant experience.
The adaptation works will include improvements in the media park, where it is expected to soon house new leading brands in the sports and DIY sectors.
In this area the exterior facades of the current shops will be renewed and in parallel there will be performances in the outdoor parking, improving access to the center to make them more comfortable, as well as enabling a covered area with capacity for 400 vehicles.
The expected execution time of the works is 7 months, so the presentation of the new image is scheduled for September 2018.
As for the commercial operators, since the recent acquisition, Parque Almenara is immersed in a strong marketing process, entrusted to LyC Consultores (www.lyc-consultorres.com), with more than 25 years of experience in the sector and with a management portfolio of 11 shopping centers in Spain.
The result of this process is the incorporation of 10 new brands to its commercial offer and the forecast of new and important additions in the short term.
Efforts to improve the commercial offer of Parque Almenara can already be seen, especially in the area of ​​leisure and restoration, where three new operators have already opened their doors, 100 Montaditos, Pomodoro and Cafeteria El Arte, and three new additions are expected including an important leisure operator for all ages.
On the other hand, the arrival of new fashion operators such as Rumbo, Mango, ... will improve the already varied commercial offer of Parque Almenara that currently has the main international groups in the sector such as Inditex (Zara, Oysho, Massimo Dutti, Lefties , Bershka, Pull and Bear and Stradivarius), Cortefiel (Cortefiel, Springfield, Women Secret), H & M, Punto Roma, Benetton, Mediamarkt and Casa, among others, plus two important anchors: the Carrefour hypermarket of 8,256 m2 of sales room, which It was incorporated at the beginning of 2017, contributing to the relaunching of the center and the growth of the influx, and the ACEC multiplexes, which have 10 movie theaters, and are planning to renew the image of their facilities before summer.
Almenara Park thus reinforces its leadership position in its area of ​​influence, consolidating itself as the best meeting place in which to live experiences, where the visitor is the main protagonist.
