The Community allocates more than 837,000 euros to the integral improvement of the neighborhood of Santa Quiteria de Lorca, which includes the streets Horno, Santa Quiteria, Pintor Salvador Zamora and Domingo Albarracín, as well as Alameda Virgen de las Huertas and adjacent streets.
The works consist of the renovation of 238 residential connections, 4,631 square meters of sidewalks and 54 led street lamps.
This was explained today by the General Director of Territorial Planning, Architecture and Housing, Laura Sandoval, and the councilor of works of the City of Lorca, Angel Meca, during his visit to the works, which highlighted that the planned actions "are very advanced "and" will directly affect the well-being of the neighbors ".
"Santa Quiteria and Salvador Zamora Pintor streets are practically finished, in the absence of applying the last layer of asphalt and the installation of signs, and Calle del Horno is at 60 percent execution," said Laura Sandoval, who indicated that the intervention in Alameda Virgen de las Huertas and adjacent is the longest.
The action in this Lorca neighborhood includes the integral renovation of the sanitation and supply networks, as well as the replacement of high energy efficiency public lighting and the undergrounding of low voltage lines and telecommunications.
The full pavement of the streets, including the sidewalks, will also be replenished.
In addition, three islands will be installed for the management and collection of urban solid waste in the neighborhood, thirty thickets will be planted and a programmed irrigation system will be installed.
Improvement of access to the fairgrounds
The general director indicated that the works of renovation of the neighborhood of Santa Quiteria "will suppose an improvement of the accesses to the enclosure ferial", of which, according to remembered, "it is going away to undertake the second phase of its reconstruction and finalization, to which we will destine seven million euros ".
The fairgrounds can accommodate 13,600 people thanks to its many resources.
Specifically, more than 10,300 people can be located in the exhibition spaces, almost 1,000 in the performing arts space, 2,000 more in the covered patio and 412 distributed in three rooms with capacity for 252 spectators, 100 and 60, respectively.
It will also have a large basement, restaurant and terrace of 932 square meters for outdoor events.
The number of conference rooms has been increased from two to three and from 375 to 502 square meters the space allocated for this purpose.
