La Hermandad de Labradores, Paso Azul will commemorate again the International Book Day.
On this occasion, with the purchase of a ticket to visit the Blue Museum of Holy Week, a copy of one of the many publications published over the years by the brotherhood will be given away.
Likewise, a special bookmark will be delivered that will contain a phrase from one of the most famous writers of the Ciudad del Sol: José María Castillo Navarro.
In this way it is intended to claim the Lorca author in the year of the 90th anniversary of his birth, which will be fulfilled this month of July.
In this sense it is worth highlighting the extraordinary trajectory as a processionist that the writer has developed throughout his life in the Paso Azul, becoming President of the same and promoting the changes that, thanks to his genius, have made the Holy Week from Lorca what it is today.
Castillo Navarro published his last book in 1974 and, although brief, his literary production has been translated into three languages and studied in depth by experts such as Pedro Guerrero, Anthony Percival and the Dutch Hispanist Helena Penseel.
Among his writings he especially highlights 'Con la lengua fuera', a finalist in 1956 for the City of Barcelona prize, which he won the following year with 'Las uñas del miedo'.
In addition, in 1958 he was a finalist for the Planeta Prize with 'Manos cruzadas sobre el halda'.
In short, a new act that continues the intense cultural activity that El Paso Azul has been developing in recent years.
