López Miras says that with the arrival of High Speed, "Lorca will be much more intense one of the three economic pillars and growth engines of the Region"
The president of the Community, Fernando Lopez Miras, stressed today that "burying the High Speed ​​as it passes through Lorca beyond the rambla de las Señoritas is a conquest of this city, an opportunity for Lorca and a commitment from the Government of Spain; something historic that we claimed and that we have achieved ", remarked the president.
López Miras made these statements during the visit he made to Lorca, together with the Minister of Development, Ãñigo de la Serna, who presented the project of the Murcia-Almería high-speed line as it passed through the urban stretch of the city of the Sun. "We told the minister that it was essential that the burial in Lorca reach beyond the rambla of the Ladies and has fulfilled his word," said the president.
According to the deadlines with which the Ministry of Public Works works, in June the works of all the high-speed sections pending for the Murcia-Almeria connection will be awarded, with an investment of 845 million euros.
At the end of the year the informative study for the arrival of the AVE to Lorca would be approved, and the construction project, so that next year the bidding process of the works can begin.
The burial of the roads in the urban section of Lorca will start at the San Diego station and will extend for approximately 2.5 kilometers to the Rambla de las Señoritas.
Lopez Miras said that the arrival of High Speed ​​Lorca "will be a productive revulsive for the economy," adding that Lorca "has to be much more intense one of the three economic pillars and growth engines of the Region, and with the arrival of High Speed ​​will achieve it ".
In this sense, López Miras highlighted the "commitment of the Government of Spain with the Region", and the "political and personal involvement of the minister, who has kept his word."
He said that "Lorca is the head of the region and reference of a territorial sphere of influence that goes far beyond the border with Almeria but, he assured, has to be even stronger."
He added that "Lorca has to be the connection again, the entrance of the Region of Murcia in Andalusia," and recalled that "Lorca are demanding people and we will be expectant and vigilant regarding the deadlines of this project to make it a reality as soon as possible".
