Martín regretted that, in the absence of three months for the end of the execution period, not even 40% of the actions have been completed.
The PP has not learned anything from the experiences in the neighborhoods of La Viña or San José, in which the trade was severely affected by the chaotic planning of the works, to the point that many establishments have not been able to raise their heads or have had to definitely close
The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes de Lorca, Gloria Martín, has transferred to the municipal government team the "slowness" in the execution of the works of integral renovation of the Alameda de Cervantes de Lorca, and of the streets and nearby spaces.
The works, with a cost of 3.2 million euros, began on July 25, 2017 and had an execution period of 12 months.
In the absence of three months to complete it, not even 40% of the actions have been completed.
Given the small number of workers working in the area, "we are not surprised by the slow pace that is being printed on the site," said Martín.
"In some points there are hardly two workers," said Martin, who wondered if the lack of workers is due to a "stubborn" attitude of the concessionaire company or that, as in the works of San Fernando, the CARM does not comply with the Payments.
Whatever the cause, the mayor demanded "compliance with the deadlines" to "minimize" the damages that are causing the affected neighbors and businesses.
The councilor of IU-Greens lamented that the PP "has not learned anything" from the experiences in the neighborhoods of La Viña or San José, in which the trade was severely affected by the chaotic planning of the works, to the point that many establishments "have not been able to raise their heads or have had to close permanently".
"They promised that in the Alameda de Cervantes the works would be executed by sections but the reality is that the road is pecked almost entirely, with sidewalks raised for months," he explained.
This supposes a "terrible damage" for the commercial activity of the zone and for the suitable accessibility of pedestrians and vehicles.
Martín recalled that the affected merchants have not received any help or tax benefit that contributes to mitigate the harmful effects of the works on their activity.
