Municipal sources of Lorca Hall clarified with regard to the criticism this morning by IU on municipal debt, total debt that it inherited when the current city administration took office in 2007 was not, as stated IU of 81.4 million euros, but that was almost 106 million euros (as revealed an independent audit conducted for that purpose).
The Austerity Plan Savings and spending undertaken by the current city administration has managed to reduce the debt of 99 million euros (as of December 31, 2009).
The same sources have predicted that this year 2010 has again been further reduced total debt of the City, a fact which will be announced at the end of the current year.
The confusion that has fallen is that IU has selected only the data of the debt of the City Council in 2007 for ignoring the autonomous bodies of the Consistory.
Regarding the increase of IBI, and for the umpteenth time, the City Council reminds all citizens (and especially today as IU) the increase of the cadastre is the responsibility of National Government.
It is noteworthy that the IBI has two sections, one belonging to the City and another to the State.
The section that corresponds to the Council fell in 2008, and has frozen both in 2009 and 2010 and again in 2011.
For its part the Government's Office is using 10% increases every year, and will remain the same until 2014.
In this regard, the City Council informed all Lorca that dates back several meetings were held with the national land register, meetings in which they were asked to refrain from applying this increase, a request that was opposed.
The city council does not share the increased IBI is doing the Government's Office, and again requested a meeting with those responsible for insisting on the need to break these increases the Government of the Nation.
