Youth Councillor of the City of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz, has highlighted the success of intercultural mediation projects and school pedagogical support, academic guidance, participation and youth volunteering, language exchanges and violence prevention.
Youth Councillor of the City of Lorca, Joaquin Ruiz, has reported "excellent results that are giving the many and varied projects and services we offer from the Municipal Office for Youth and Diversity", located in the Barrio de San Cristóbal.
Ruiz said that "between January and October 2010 were dealt with 315 users of Ecuador, Morocco, Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Russia in the service of information, guidance and advice on immigration, immigration, nationality and recognition of foreign studies ".
11 computer courses, job search and immigration
During these ten months, the Youth Council has eleven courses taught basic computer free for immigrants and for children, active job search and therewith.
In addition, currently being developed three courses on active job search with the cooperation of students in the program Proempleo.
Along with this offer, European voluntary teaching English to children and young people between 9 and 18 in three different age groups and has also started a language exchange program, whereby citizens can share and learn lorquina languages with these volunteers.
30 children and youth receive pedagogical support school

Youth participation programs
Joaquin Ruiz also been reported from the municipal office, a collaboration with the Intercultural Association Cazalla, Radio Cadena SER Lorca and Youth in Action Programme of the European Union on 1 September, launched the program "Impact Radio ", which aims to promote active citizenship by providing a space for dissemination to address issues and concerns of youth in a pluralistic, innovative and critical.
