We want to start this press conference to express our solidarity and support to our partner, Socialist Party Councillor, Marisol Sánchez Jódar, by thoughtlessness and personal insults received from the Councillor for Water and Environment Mr. Melchor Morales.
We call it, to apologize publicly to our colleague and remove the insults made against Marisol.
This correction, in addition to repair the moral damage to our partner, will honor him as a person.
Since the creation of Citizens Lorca our priority has been to seek the transparency that we have lacked all these years and we consider basic to good management.
On July 8 we present a first letter in the City requesting information regarding the Audit promised by the current mayor, wage data collected by officials, labor officials, councilors and other members of the City Government team and other economic aspects which we believe should be public.
The answer to that letter was sent to the website of the City Hall where everyone can see that there is no data than requested.
Later on September 9 proceeded to file a 2nd letter in which reiterábamos our requests and our right to transparent information, invoking the principles of transparency and public access to information that protects our constitutional right.
After these two months from the filing date of the second letter we have not yet received the same response.
(We know that there are three peak months that must elapse since their introduction)
However, we have achieved by informal channels, a copy of what in theory is as advertised and promised Audit trumpeted by our Mayor, D.
Francisco Jodar, in his campaign for the elections of 2007.
Uncertain as this is the Audit, we maintain our call to be the council to let us know what the official audit, if any.
It would also be in our interest and that of all citizens to know the amount the local or regional paid at the time by performing it.
We want to state that we feel that none of the games currently on the full interest they delve into these issues of financial transparency, comparable to the disinterest shown by the commission to purge the political responsibilities concerning the case LIMUSA
Also declare that after three months prescribed in current regulations do not give us economic data requested and that the constitution gives us the right to know, we as a party and people of Lorca, take such steps and will turn to how many instances are necessary to to assert our rights as citizens to know that you have done and are doing with our money.
Anecdotally we can say that we get to know the real reason for such obscurantism.
We can cite the example of what a PP spokesman said in a radio broadcast on Thursday, November 4, the question asked by a member of our party:
Why has not issued the audit?
Answer: "Because we care."
Our rulers may not be interested in transparency, but citizens SI.
Tell them that we attach to the press pack ITA report concerning the level of transparency of the municipality of Lorca, in finance and economics is described as a severe suspension (3.2)
