The Governing Council has given its approval to the extension until the end of 2012, an agreement on training, research and technology transfer for genetic improvement of the herd of horses, to be held at the Centre for Training and Integrated Agricultural Experiences, CIFE, Lorca.
The agreement, signed in 2008 and involving the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, and the Association of Breeders of Pure Breeds of the Region of Murcia (ACCRPRM) does not entail additional costs of funding for the Department and has targeted to meet the demands of regional livestock sector, which represents an improvement of the herd horses.
The agreement will enhance the selection process of breeding these pure breeds and address the need for veterinary assistance for the implementation of artificial insemination technique.
