Consumer Councilmember of the City Hall, Antonia Lopez, has reported that 2,500 students from twelve primary schools in the municipality participate in a series of workshops on "Consumer education", organized in collaboration with the Department of Consumer Community Autonomous.
Lopez explained that "the City Council offered to all schools in the municipality these workshops are being offered by the legal adviser of the council and will be held during the months of March, April and May of this year in schools who wished to participate in their realization. "
The workshops being offered are "Safe Toys" for students of 1 and 2 of Primary Education, "Learning through play" for students of 3 rd and 4 th Primary and "Social Networks and the protection of minors" for students 5 and 6, but also work with their parents if they request it.
The methodology of these workshops is the active participation of students to be the protagonists of their learning and their duration is one hour and a half, depending on time availability of each school.
The Councillor for Health and Consumer considered essential to develop these workshops because the high potential to contain fun and educational games and toys thus giving rise to them should be used to boost the capacities of smaller and to assume values as important as equality, solidarity, tolerance and respect for the environment.
It is also necessary to emphasize that these toys comply with current regulations with regard to their safety.
