The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana inaugurated this morning the Day Care Center Senior Poncemar Foundation, located in the deputation of Tercia Lorca, which is planned to reach 22 people without means and affected by different degrees of dependence.
He was accompanied at the opening ceremony, the managing director of the Institute of Social Action Murciano, Isabel Sola, the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the patron of the Foundation, José Luis García Fernández.
The project cost amounted to 600,000 euros has been paid in full by the Foundation Poncemar.
The building of 396 square meters, stands on a plot of 1,600, near the pharmacy and the doctor of the village of Tercia.
The center's goal is to work as a dwelling unit, capable of providing comprehensive care during the day the basic personal needs, therapeutic and socio-cultural dependent adults, promoting their independence and remain in their usual environment.
The Foundation, established nearly 40 years, has contributed lately to keep San Diego Asilo de Lorca, has helped religious Lorca's work with the greatest need and, in particular, to afford two buildings, built in the city, for to groups of elders.
Currently in the region are 952 public places in day centers for seniors, while the residential public squares amount to 2,307.
