The Director General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, Los Angeles Albert, with the head of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain (IPCE), Alfonso Munoz, and technicians of this institution have been moved to the town of Lorca to make a first assessment of the damage yesterday's earthquake has resulted in the cultural heritage of the town.
In coordination with the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets of the Region of Murcia, the Emergency Unit and Risk Management of Cultural Heritage Institute of Spain, to carry out a preliminary inspection of the damage and needs, to schedule any emergency action, to avoid risks to persons, damage to property and preventive conservation measures.
The Emergency Unit and Risk Management IPCE has been created to urgently respond to emergency situations in case of disasters that may affect its assets.
The IPCE Technical Institute will make a first assessment of the damages and risks, and will work with technical services of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, in order to take emergency measures and schedule the necessary actions.
