The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Municipality of Lorca and the Ministry of Public Works agreed at a meeting today to establish a permanent information system between the three governments to coordinate the work of recovery of assets damaged after the earthquake on Wednesday.
At the meeting attended by the Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, the councilman of Culture of the Municipality of Lorca, Rosa Medina, and the deputy director general of Aid, Grants and Projects of the Ministry of Development, José María Verdú, accompanied technicians of the three administrations.
At the meeting, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported on the work of consolidation and recovery of cultural property that has been done so far in Lorca and which include the removal of elements in danger of detachment, the evacuation of movable property affected buildings and shoring of the churches of Santo Domingo, San Francisco and Huertas, among others.
The Heritage managers and technicians also visited the Palacio Guevara, the Iglesia del Carmen and the Castle of Lorca.
The Ministry of Culture of the regions of Valencia and Andalusia have been placed at the regional government to assist in the reconstruction of historical and cultural heritage of Lorca.
