The Town Planning of the City of Lorca, Francisco Garcia, has announced that tomorrow will proceed to the demolition of two buildings as a result of earthquakes in Lorca during the day May 11.
Specifically these will be located at number 3, Calle Guardia Civil, along with the Civil Guard barracks, and the Princess Building, located at numbers 51 and 53 of the Highway of Granada.
As explained Garcia, who has met this afternoon with the neighbors next to both buildings, "it's demolition that are determined by the worsening of structural damage detection."
The mayor explained that "the so-called Team 0, composed of the best specialists and damage structures, have tried every means to save these two properties. In fact, up to 6 times they have visited both buildings, concentrating all their efforts on finding solutions in extremis to keep up. But finally it was impossible to save them, and security settings require its demolition. "
The demolition order was hatched during the night and first thing tomorrow and, according to Garcia said, "At this time the municipal engineers are working on the necessary relocations."
The controlled demolition of both buildings will be held throughout the day tomorrow.
