The National President of the Spanish Red Cross, Juan Manuel Suárez del Toro this morning visited the refugee camp of La Torrecilla.
Sports facilities of Lorca in La Torrecilla hosting since last Monday for those affected by the earthquake on day 11, after being dismantled the temporary shelter of Huerto de la Rueda.
During his visit, which was accompanied by the regional president, Aurelio Luna, and the presidents of the local Assemblies of Lorca and Aguilas, Juan Carlos Garcia and Miguel Molina, among other members of the humanitarian organization in the region of Murcia, Juan Manuel Suarez del Toro was interested in the affiliation of the protocols involved, and the tasks of providing children and adults carried out by Red Cross volunteers, who publicly thanked his effort and commitment.
Since last May 11th when the earthquake occurred, the Spanish Red Cross has mobilized resources, delivered food, equipment and supplies staples worth one and half million euros, and has benefited from the selfless participation of volunteers Red Cross chapters across the country to assist the nearly 3,000 victims of the earthquake.
