The Governing Council has authorized the granting of various subsidies in employment to the city of Lorca, for a total of three million euros, to alleviate the damage caused by seismic suffered on 11 May.
The aid, framed in the Local Public Employment Programs and Employment Workshops allow for the recruitment of 200 unemployed people who are responsible to rehabilitate and restore the buildings and public spaces most affected by earthquakes.
On the one hand, the regional government through the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, given over two million for the Local Public Employment Program, which will allow the hiring of about 150 unemployed in the municipality, and, another one million euros earmarked for the two workshops will employment hiring unemployed plus 48 others.
The first appointments will be made immediately so that in the month of June starting the reconstruction, repair and rehabilitation of municipal areas most affected.
The City Council will determine for the next few days what the most urgent needs and professional profiles needed to restore and rehabilitate the affected areas, but essentially it comes to professions and trades related to construction such as carpenters, plumbers, masons or electricians.
