The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar has this morning signed an agreement with the Development Director HOLCIM Soteno of Spain and the Director of the cement factory in Lorca, Manuel Soriano and Juan José Pérez respectively, whereby the company donates to the Consistory Lorca 250,000 euros in materials manufactured by this company for the restoration of cultural property in Lorca's interest to define the City Council.
Through this agreement, the cement company also makes available to the City Council for five years the use of the quarry "Alba Lorca II", which owns Holcim, the reception of debris originating from the cleaning of streets and demolition buildings, in accordance with the terms and conditions set by the environmental agency of the Autonomous Region in the corresponding authorization granted in this regard.
Francisco Jódar Holcim thanked his constant collaboration in the social and cultural life of Lorca, and the involvement of its workers.
In this sense, the mayor stressed that Holcim was one of the first companies to approach the council to provide input on the recovery of the city after the devastating earthquake on May 11.
The mayor concluded by stressing that "with this agreement, Holcim shows solidarity with Lorca and his commitment to help improve their environment."
