The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, recalled today that, by agreement of the Council of Ministers on the proposal of Minister of Education, a Royal Decree that regulates the granting of a direct subsidy of 2 million euros to the Community Autonomous Region of Murcia to finance measures to repair the damage to educational infrastructure as a result of earthquakes occurred on 11 May in the town of Lorca.
This assistance is aimed at those schools, both public and private arrangement situated in Lorca, but could also be included those found in neighboring areas and also damaged by the earthquake.
González Tovar added that under this heading is intended to facilitate the repair of infrastructure, equipment and educational facilities and, consequently, the restoration of educational services with quality standards prior to the earthquake.
Also, indirectly, should benefit the economic recovery with the maintenance and increase of employment in the area, while will provide an opportunity to increase the quality of infrastructure, equipment and educational facilities accessibility improvements, as well as energy savings.
