A truck loaded with 23,400 liters of semi-skimmed milk has departed this morning from the headquarters of Dairy Foods in Outeiro de Rei (Lugo) for delivery to Lorca at noon tomorrow.
The Galician Association of Agricultural Cooperatives (CAAC) and the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives in the Region of Murcia coordinated initiative involving 27 cooperatives Galician to show solidarity with those affected by the earthquake of May 11.
The two largest dairy cooperative societies in Galicia, Feiraco and Dairy Foods, have been responsible for the packaging of milk brands and transport to Lorca.
The value of the shipment is estimated at 11,000 euros.
This new joint action in which it participates FECOAM joins the organization that made the delivery of more than 30 tons of top quality products of its partners, such as fruits, vegetables, rice and oil.
The Federation has made a campaign called on unions to make financial contributions to help the victims.
Part of the money collected was used to purchase basic necessities such as bread, meats, cheeses, preserves, meat, etc..
FECOAM deliver the rest of the proceeds to the city of Lorca in the month of July.
Delivery will be made to coincide with the next president of the Federation Council to be held in the locality, and to be attended by representatives of cooperatives that have supported this initiative.
