As part of the Pfizer collaboration with Lorca, this year the Pfizer Foundation will hold its Institutional Act in the town of Murcia

Lorca's mayor, Francisco Jodar, thanked the cooperation provided by Pfizer, anticipating that the amount will be included in the funds of the Bureau for Development, so it will be spent on more pressing needs.
After the news of earthquakes in Lorca, Spain biomedical company Pfizer launched a device solidarity with Lorca to get their cooperation and solidarity as soon as possible.
As a result of this action, the company has delivered in the city of Lorca a check for 21,918 euros to help the town of Murcia to recover after the earthquakes that rocked the streets last May.
The amount allocated to this cause is the result of the commitment of Pfizer and its employees and society.
Starting the emergency collaborative arrangement with Pfizer Lorca
Pfizer's partnership with the earthquakes Lorca is an initiative of the company's own staff and steering committee, with the awareness that together we can do much with little and help people who need us in this situation emergency.
Thus, the Pfizer directors of the company decided to earmark to help with Lorca, the same amount as the money collected from its employees.
The donation amounts to 21,918 euros has been collected between employees and management of the company equally (10 959 euros each).
"Nothing more earthquakes occur, we began to receive feedback from the employees of Pfizer, moving their sensitivity to Lorca, a sentiment shared from the steering committee. We all wanted to collaborate with Lorca. Therefore, aware of the magnitude and the proximity the catastrophe, we put the most appropriate means to convey our support and solidarity, "said Dr. Elvira Urgoiti Sanz, President of Pfizer.

In addition, as part of collaborative efforts with Lorca, Murcia town this year will host the Institutional Act of the Pfizer Foundation.
In this act, the Pfizer Foundation hands out awards for Research, Communication and Social Commitment Award.
The awards recognize the efforts of individuals, organizations and agencies for the advancement of knowledge, promoting health and improving the quality of life in Spain.
Nearly two months after the earthquake, the Lorca still working to restore normalcy in the municipality.
The earthquake killed nine people and economic losses, to the extent that they have become the most destructive recorded in Spain for 50 years.
For unexpected, this catastrophe is physically and emotionally affecting more than 100,000 people living in this town.
Pfizer Collaboration in Natural Disasters
