July 13, 2011.
The Deputy Mayor of Lorca and Town Planning, José Joaquín Peñarrubia has received a delegation of city council's institutional Huércal-Overa, led by its first mayor, Domingo Fernández.
This is a first contact between the two locations after the elections of last May.
During this meeting the Mayor of Huércal-Overa has expressed support for a "municipality brother" to the Lorca before a tragedy that has beaten the entire city.
Fernandez explained that the municipality is carrying out various acts of solidarity for the benefit of those affected by the earthquake of May 11 as gathering point between the business association (ACEH) and activities of the association "Virgin River."
The mayor is anticipated that the revenue obtained from these initiatives will be delivered shortly to the City Lorca.
Peñarrubia and Fernandez have been addressed, in addition, several projects of interest to the region, such as improving communications infrastructure, both road and the need to restore rail links that were closed during the 80's.
The delegation was composed Huércal-Overa by Mayor and Council of Economics and Business, Maribel Sanchez, and the delegate of Public Works, Employment and Trade, Monica Navarro.
