The spokesman for IU-Greens in the city of Lorca, Murcia Jose Garcia, said today that if the House Corporation have approved the motion filed in 2008 for his group to create a municipal comprehensive care for the homeless, " people sleeping under tarps, exposed to high temperatures, have a social space worthy of attention. "
Murcia Garcia recalled that the motion was rejected by the government team, PP, claiming that "there was no need" this space in the municipality intended to respond to the needs of accommodation and meals for the homeless, using measures social support, in collaboration with social services and other public and private, to act on the complexity of factors involved in situations of social vulnerability.
In Murcia there are 37 centers of these characteristics, most located in municipalities with more than 100,000.
The town of Lorca is very close to those numbers, so IU-Green believes that a municipality of Lorca characteristics "can not afford not to have one such center that addresses situations of social need."
Likewise, García Murcia says if there had been the center of care offered to victims of the earthquake "could have been more agile, faster and better."
"This only shows the lack of interest of this team of government to improve the living conditions of people who have more needs and difficulties", was completed.
