Lorca PP Senator says the Insurance Compensation Consortium, an agency under the Ministry of Economy, is delaying payments and repairs immortalized
The PP claims "discomfort, anger, helplessness and powerlessness" felt by the citizens of Lorca
The spokesman for the Territorial Senate of the People's Party for Murcia, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, today called, through an initiative of the Parliamentary Group, the appearance of Vice President Elena Salgado to explain the "controversial" actions of the Compensation Consortium Insurance, an agency under the Ministry of Finance in relation to the earthquake in Lorca on 11 May.
The EPP wants the government to explain the reasons for its poor management of the earthquake and recalled that "Zapatero's ministers came to spout when the ruins were smoldering, Propal deceptions that have led to defaults and now that the issue is no longer a reference media in the national media, humiliate Lorca oblivion. "
According the PP senator, the management of aid and compensation insurance is causing the citizens Lorca a deep sense of discomfort, anger, helplessness and powerlessness.
Peñarrubia, recalled that the Royal Decree approved by the Government on May 13, is currently being validated in Parliament as Bill, established within the emergency measures to repair the damage caused by the earthquake, the Consortium on behalf of insurance companies is to provide compensation to individuals affected by damage to buildings, houses, commercial and business, both in relation to property and loss of earnings, which were covered by insurance policies.
The problem, has denounced the popular senator, is that "to date, the only agreements being reached between the insured and adjusters of the Consortium are those relating to minor damage, while, conversely, there are huge difficulties in dealing with claims of a certain entity. "
According Peñarrubia, management of the matter is so bad that even in the case of damage to small amounts, considerable delays are occurring more than 30 days, "which are completely incomprehensible," and "hinder" the whole process .
The PP's parliamentary protest that the consortium made because of principle, a low valuation of around 20%, as are denouncing those affected.
According to the senator, is a very serious problem, since the renovations and repairs grip on time and as a result, arising subsequent damage caused precisely by the lack of action.
"In these extreme cases, if the patient wants to contact the appraiser assigned, which made the first visit, the issue becomes impossible, as we are moving many policyholders," he told Peñarrubia.
So, when the damages are to compensate for increased funding and structural, major claims, the situation becomes "more serious and disturbing."
Lorca Senator explained that, in such cases, the Consortium uses a contractor that is dedicated to trying to guide the study and solution of certain contractors from outside the Region of Murcia.
