The Insurance Compensation Consortium has already approved 11,957 records for amount exceeding 66'2 million
The Joint Committee established by Royal Decree Law 6 / 2011 for which urgent action to repair damage caused by earthquakes of last May in Lorca, was approved this morning the first 217 people homeless grants by earthquakes in an amount of about one million euros.
Of these 207 grants, amounting to 882,251 euros, are for home repair and the other 10, for 48,240 euros, for the payment of rent for relocation.
The Commission, which was established last May 25 in Lorca, has the task of assessing and quantifying the aid granted to individuals by virtue of applications, lease, reconstruction, rehabilitation or repair of houses which constitute the habitual residence and to the replacement of household necessities.
In the meeting participated the two co-chairs of the same, the government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the Minister of Public Works and Planning, Sevilla Antonio Recio, and Lorca's mayor, Francisco Alonso Jódar, and other representatives and technicians from the three administrations.
The total aid cases handled amounted to 14,192, of which 12,375 correspond to repair homes, 1,006 are for rent, 699 for rebuilding houses and 112 for replacement appliances.

Moreover, the meeting was informed that the Insurance Compensation Consortium was approved until July 14, 11 957 applications, representing 48'48% of the 24,660 submitted, which have brought a compensation of 66 275 361.25 euros.
If the current average compensation per application, the total amount would be more than 136'6 million, although it is estimated that the final amount will be higher, as recent cases are higher than the first amount.
Speed ​​and accuracy in processing aid
Members of the Commission have acknowledged the work of officials of the regional government and said that during the processing of applications for help have come various problems that must be rectified by the various administrations.
Have risen to the Joint Committee the various incidents that are resolved as soon as possible to expedite as much as possible the approval of the remaining aid cases.
They also noted that "the institutions involved in the granting of aid we seek to reconcile the rapid processing with strict compliance with the rules of procedure and the mandate we received from citizens requires us to properly manage public funds."
