The Ministry of Finance, through the Institute of Credit and Finance in the Region of Murcia, is negotiating the acquisition of 250 million euros of funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the reconstruction and economic and social standards of the municipality Lorca after the major damage to the May 11 earthquake.
Councilor Salvador Marín held yesterday a meeting with representatives from the EIB to continue finalizing the work that is being developed to the Board of Directors of this EU institution approved the granting of this credit to the Region of Murcia preferential terms.
Marín said that "from the regional government, with the president at the helm, we are developing a coordinated hard work from different departments to bring solutions to the social and economic catastrophe, exploring all the possibilities of national and international funding, such as the request to the Solidarity Fund of the European Union and EIB financing. "
Also, the meeting of the EIB's technical counselor is completed by another series of internal working meetings with governing bodies of the Community for the reconstruction of Lorca, as well as with officials from other administrations as the City Council.
