The Joint Committee established by Royal Decree Law 6 / 2011 for which urgent action to repair the damage caused by the earthquakes of last May was approved this morning Lorca 1763 housing aid for stricken as a result of Earthquakes in the amount of 8,812,603.99 euros.
Of these 1076 grants are for home repair (6,960,397.18) and 271 for the payment of rentals for relocation (1,852,206.81).
The rest, a total of 417, the records are denied because it compensated by the Insurance Compensation Consortium is higher than the valuation made by the Commission.
The Commission, which was established on 25 May in Lorca, is mandated to assess and quantify the aid granted to individuals, in respect of applications filed, lease, reconstruction, rehabilitation or repair of houses which constitute the habitual residence and as for the replacement of household necessities.
In the meeting participated the two co-chairs, the government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Seville, as well as representatives of the Municipality of Lorca and technicians from the three administrations.
The total aid cases handled amounted to 14,192, of which 12,375 are for housing repairs, 1,006 are for rent, 699 for rebuilding houses and 112 for replacement of appliances.
The records analyzed and reviewed by the regional administration reached 75 percent of total cases.
Of the remainder, the regional administration is due to receive relevant information to rectify the data and / or documents submitted by applicants.
To date, the Joint Commission has approved 2442 files, with a total amount of 11,948,524.29 euros.
Extension of deadline for applying for aid
The Autonomous Community has extended the deadline for submission of grants for the repair and reconstruction of houses affected by the earthquakes of Lorca.
Thus, as a result of the severity of the disaster and the large number of damage, affected citizens will have two months to submit their applications.
The initial term of Decree 68/2011 establishing the above support ended on June 18, but also authorized the amendment be allowed applications that were submitted from 19 June to the beginning of the new deadline, September 28 .
Also in the line to facilitate access to those affected aid for the replacement of household necessities, have changed the foundations established by Decree 92/2011 in order to finalize the documentation to be submitted with the application.
Lorca citizens seeking such aid must submit a budget expenditure to perform, and photocopy of the applicant's Tax ID or owner or lessee of distressed housing and responsible statement above.
