It will be located on the campus of the school "Ibanez Martin" and "Ros Giner" and involve an investment of 1.2 million euros
The government of Spain built in Lorca, through the Sports Council, a covered sports pavilion to be located on the campus of the school "Ibañez Martin" and "Ros Giner" and with an investment of 1.2 billion euros .
The pavilion will feature a 1,350-square-foot superpi, 1,000 for the sports and 350 to other uses (changing rooms, stores, etc.)..
This was agreed at the meeting yesterday that the Joint Committee on Extension Plan of Physical Education and Sport held in Lorca School, under the chairmanship of the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and with the participation of the City Council and whose purpose was to solve the problems in school sports facilities by the earthquakes of last May.
The meeting also agreed that the Autonomous Community shall make good of the Sports Center "Europe", on which will have preferential use IES "Prince of Asturias".
The cost of these works is also 1.2 billion euros.
For this type of work the municipalities contribute 20% of the amount, running the rest equal parts by the Higher Sports Council and the Autonomous Community.
In this case, and in response to the special situation of Lorca, the City would not have to make any contribution, corresponding to the total funding for the other two parties.
The Plan of Extension of Physical Education and School Sport was born in 1988 and developed by agreement of the Ministry of Education and Science with the different autonomous communities.
Since then, they have done in the Murcia region 245 performances, which must be added the two to be performed in Lorca.
Of those 245 performances, all of them are already completed, with the exception that currently takes place in the IES "Infante Don Juan Manuel" de Murcia.
These facilities are used only by students in schools where you are located but, outside school hours, are used by residents and sports associations.
