The presentation of funds raised in solidarity with Unicaja has taken place in Murcia, in the Red Cross headquarters, where the Director of the Office of Unicaja in Murcia, Sonia Lopez, and the Director of the Office Unicaja in Lorca, Felipe Pallares, have delivered the check for the Red Cross regional president, Aurelio Luna.
This action is part of Unicaja's interest to encourage support for the disadvantaged and, in particular in its area of ​​operation, and adds to social solidarity actions carried out through its Social Work.
With this initiative, Unicaja has made available all its channels citizen action (its branch network, telephone banking and electronic banking), to facilitate the collection of donations intended to help alleviate the needs created by the earthquake Lorca, which reached 5.1 degrees on the Richter scale and left 9 people dead and 200 injured and dozens of families homeless.
The earthquake, which took place on May 11, also caused major structural damage to homes and businesses in Lorca that will be demolished or rehabilitated.
