The Insurance Compensation Consortium will pay the total amount of repairs to the facilities of the City Council
The Government of Spain submitted in the near future the president the Autonomous Region and the Mayor of Lorca a plan of measures for the recovery of this city, according to the non-legislative proposal passed by the Congress of Deputies on September 13 .
This was said this morning the Secretary of Public Works, Jesus Miranda, who last Friday was appointed commissioner of the Government for actions arising from the earthquake in Lorca, who has announced that tomorrow will visit this city for, among other things, studying the location office to be in it at the head of which is the Area Director of Development of the Government Delegation, Diego Peñarrubia.
Jesus Miranda, who this morning has also held a meeting with the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, Peñarrubia himself and senior officials of the Ministry of Development to discuss the evolution of the actions carried out in Lorca, has advanced to a weekly travel this city.
Moreover, Miranda realizes that the Insurance Compensation Consortium has already paid, either permanently or through the payment of advances, more than 25,400 of the total 29,200 applications for compensation to the former, which accounts for 95 % of the total, and added that there have been to more than 200 experts working in Lorca "a series of guidelines to expedite the expert opinion" of the missing, which are more complex.
In addition, the Consortium has determined, in just three days after being filed, the Municipality of Lorca's allegations about damage to their facilities.
This resolution has been favorable to local interests, which will mean that "the consortium will pay the full amount of the repairs, and not only about 7 million subscribers to date."
This expense may amount to some 40 million euros.
Miranda, who has defined his task as "propose, promote and coordinate action for the recovery of normal Lorca," said the Government's commitment to this city "is firm and unwavering, as evidenced by the nearly 235 million already disbursed, from 700 in today can predict their contribution to mitigate the effects "of earthquakes.
It is also evident on the assumption that commitment to address issues of cost are other governments whose powers, such as those made in housing or education.
Finally, the delegate of the Government has expressed the need to accelerate to the maximum processing applications for housing assistance, rent and furniture, so that the same may be approved as soon as possible by the Joint Commission and reach the beneficiaries.
On aid, Jesus Miranda has advanced to the Cabinet this month approved the funds for the second wave, involving 367 beneficiaries.
