He accused the PP government to retain a "black hole" money it receives from the Government of Spain for Lorca
The head of the list to the Congress of Deputies by the PSRM, María González Veracruz, has welcomed yesterday's approval by the Cabinet on the amount of 14 million euros from the Ministry of Interior to make payment for emergency actions conducted in the city of Lorca on the occasion of the earthquake last May 11.
At the same meeting also approved the issuance of 926,000 euros to the Autonomous Community of Murcia for the payment of 50% which corresponds to the state in rent subsidies.
Gonzalez Veracruz has indicated that to date have approved a total of EUR 23 million for emergency expenses (demolitions, demolition, etc..) Of which 9 have already been paid to the City Council to pay as soon as the companies they have done this work.
With respect to rental assistance, recalled on 5 September, the State and transferred 315,000 euros to the Regional Government and a few days later 441,000 for aid to housing rehabilitation.
"Therefore, the Government of Spain is fulfilling its commitment to effective aid to citizens as quickly Lorca, while the regional government should neither be contributing 50% to which it committed by convention, is holding a "black hole" money it receives from the state while Lorca have a hard time, "he said.
The Socialist candidate has demanded that the PP government to put 50% of aid that is required and stop punishing families who have lost their homes.
In his opinion "the situation requires further action Lorca and fewer words by their regional government, who would not stop giving excuses for not putting their fair share."
Faced with this irresponsible behavior, Veracruz Gonzalez recalled that the Government of Spain has taken a united response to Lorca immediately and continuously, without skimping on effort or financial resources to contribute to their recovery.
As evidence has pointed out that until the day of the date the State has already earmarked 275 million euros in compensation and aid, and has committed over 700 million.
These statements were made by the Socialist candidate on his visit this morning to the neighborhood of San Cristobal and Vine where he has had opportunity to talk with neighbors.

In this regard, he recalled the commitment to contribute 19 million in direct aid to the municipality of Lorca to cover half of the cost of damage to infrastructure and municipal buildings.

In particular it is the consolidation of the Guevara Palace, the restoration of the Great Wall of Lorca, restoration Porche de San Antonio and action on Church of San Mateo, emergency works at the Castle Tower (Ram) and restoration of parts of the Archaeological Museum.
In addition, 5 million has been allocated to the restoration of the Parador in order that it can open its doors before next Easter.
Gonzalez Veracruz also referred to the tax benefits promoted by the state, such as exemptions for homeowners, commercial and industries as well as for owners of damaged vehicles.
This line has also been exempted from payment of IBI to those affected, although the money, totaling 11 million euros has been donated to the city of Lorca lest they see their income dwindling.

Finally, the Socialist candidate said that the Government of Spain has created the figure of the Government Commissioner for Lorca, whose aim is to inform both citizens and different groups of measures being taken by the Government of the Nation on to damage caused by earthquakes for five months.
Maria Gonzalez Veracruz also announced that in the national PSOE's electoral program for the elections of 20 November, reflects the commitment of the Socialists to finish the reconstruction Lorca, a commitment which is the continuation of the work being carried out by the Government of Spain from the moment they occurred earthquakes.
"The Government of Spain if you meet Lorca, with facts and without demagoguery and with the support of citizens, as a member of Murcia will work with total dedication to remain so after the 20N" he said.
