The new Recovery Plan contemplates Cultural Heritage by 51 million euros
Approved the transfer of 3.5 million euros to the Government of Murcia for the payment of home repair assistance
The Cabinet today approved 37 new measures to alleviate the damage caused by the earthquake in Lorca and revitalize the city.
This new program of aid and incentives in addition to the urgent action taken by the Government occur immediately after the quake, aimed to make urgent and emergency work, and provide support for the reconstruction of damaged property.
The new plan improves some of those measures and provides new initiatives to support those affected and to stimulate economic activity and recovery of Lorca so the city can regain normalcy as soon as possible.
These new measures in housing, infrastructure, support business and industry, recovery of cultural heritage, support citizens in their dealings, or in tax matters, among others, will give new impetus by the Government in the rehabilitation and repair of the city of Lorca.
The plan has been negotiated with the Government of the Region of Murcia and Lorca City Council.
The most important are:
1.
Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
It sets up a line of support to the City of Lorca for trade recovery through support for projects of special interest.
Grants will be provided through a program of aid to the re-industrialization.
The Government will compensate the City of Lorca bonuses can agree on fees for licensing for re-opening activity or installation of new businesses.
They include support for the repair, rehabilitation and reconstruction of local business.
2.
Health infrastructure.
It provides a direct subsidy to the Autonomous Community of Murcia to finance the repair of damage to infrastructure, facilities and sanitary facilities.
3.
Social security
Is authorized to defer the statutory period of payment of any dues Social Security, extending the period granted by Royal Decree Law 6 / 2011.
4.
Cultural Heritage.
New tax incentives in relation to actions aimed at the rehabilitation of the cultural heritage of Lorca.
Aid are established to cover exceptional expenses incurred by the City of Lorca derived from essential and urgent actions that are undertaken to ensure the protection of cultural heritage of the city against weather likely to result in such property aggravate the damage already suffered damage in the earthquake.
Approval of the Recovery Plan for Cultural Heritage of the town of Lorca, valued at 51 million euros, and authorizing the ministries of Culture and Development for the signing of specific agreements with the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Lorca and City Council representatives of the private owners of cultural property included in the Recovery Plan to repair and rehabilitate each property held by the Plan.

Housing.

Other.
The Ministry of Finance will boost business investment in the town of Lorca, improving the treatment of such municipality in the system of regional incentives.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance authorize a reduction over a period of two years of the modules of all economic activities based in Lorca, in relation to the objective assessment method in the income tax and VAT simplified scheme.
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, through TURESPAĂ‘A will accelerate the completion of repairs to damage caused by the earthquake in the new Parador de Lorca so you can be operational by Easter 2012.
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, through TURESPAĂ‘A, promote the city of Lorca as an international destination, especially ahead of the Easter season of 2012.
Government Commissioner for the actions derived Lorca earthquake, Jesus Miranda, explain these measures to the institutional representatives, business and social city next Monday.
These new initiatives are in addition to actions already undertaken, including the compensation of the Insurance Compensation Consortium, which has resolved 26,000 of the 29,000 claims had been filed.
The Ministry of Finance has already transferred to the Region of Murcia payments to 207 aid cases for the repair of the houses affected by the earthquake, of which the State Administration assumes 50% of the amount, by a total of 440,000 euros.
Other 367 cases were approved by the Government last week, while paying another 3.5 million euros, corresponding to the remaining 1,075 of the 1649 cases presented so far in the Joint Committee, have also been approved today by the Council Ministers.
In regard to cultural heritage concerned, there are three ministries working to recover.
The Development Ministry is acting in the Palacio de Guevara, the Wall of Lorca, the Porche de San Antonio and the church of San Mateo, while the culture is taking care of the emergency works at the Castle of the town.
For its part, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade for 5 million euros for emergency works at the Parador de Turismo.
The Ministry of Development, through the State Agency of Land, SEPES, plans to construct 300 modular housing for persons who have lost their homes by the earthquake.
