Councilwoman Social Services City of Lorca, Maria del Carmen Ruiz, has been reported that by the city council and the Spanish Red Cross continues providing scholarships to children of primary school students affected by the earthquake last May 11.
The campaign began last September and runs until late November.
So far 131 children have received a scholarship with a total of 16,405 euros, and in the coming days is expected to join 68 other cases, for an amount exceeding 9,000 euros.
Note that children belong to different schools of the town of Lorca, preceding the larger percentage of schools Perez de Hita (district of La Viña) and Alfonso X El Sabio.
These grants are awarded to families who have lost housing Lorca because of the earthquakes as well as relatives of people killed and injured by earthquakes, and those families who have lost their private business as a result of earthquakes.
The aid will be extended this month to children and students attending school, expanding the number of beneficiaries who may be on scholarship.
The requirements are the same as those for elementary students.
The application and submission of documentation is done in the local Red Cross headquarters, located in the Teresa Street No 3.
This program can be carried out thanks to financial contributions made by hundreds of individuals and businesses around the country to the Spanish Red Cross.
The program is conducted in coordination with the Department of Social Services City of Lorca and the vital cooperation of primary schools in the city.
