Adopted property inventory Lorca Cultural Heritage to be protected urgently against weather (12/11/2011)

Royal Decree-Law 17/2011 amends Royal Decree-Law 6 / 2011 to establish exceptional assistance to cultural heritage protection

On Friday, November 4, experts from the Ministry of Culture, Directorate General for Cultural Property and the city of Lorca visited the city's Cultural Heritage to identify those assets and properties in which it was essential and urgent action to ensure protection from weather.

After the visit have been prioritized action to be taken in buildings identified.

The inventory made establishes the need for action on 19 properties, which will have a budget of 1,164,026 euros, intended to carry out work to their importance and urgency needs to be undertaken immediately.

These funds will be provided by the Government of Spain.

The entry or leakage of water into the churches and through cracks in walls, structural elements breaking, falling or collapse individual elements, or loss of decorations of the temples are some of the risks that the phenomena weather can result in the Cultural Heritage after the earthquake.

To protect buildings such damage, the technicians of the three administrations have been individualized and detailed description of a series of proposals for repair, revision, removal, sealing, or cleaning.

Thus, there has been compliance with the First Final Provision of Royal Decree-Law 17/2011 of 31 October, laying down measures to mitigate damage from earthquakes occurring in Lorca on May 11 2011, establishing the obligation to pass this stock by the Ministry of Culture, the Autonomous Community of Murcia and Lorca City Council within ten days from the entry into force of the rule.
